APPLICATION

TELECOMMUNICATION

ADST configured and delivered a Phototonics Module Align, Assembly and Test station with required custom fixturing, tooling, instrumentation and process sequencing to align and test.
These devices had very different geometries and sizes. The number of output channels also ranged from 1 to any numbers.

Application Requirements:
Process prototyping
Interchangeable tooling
Vision-guided pick-and-place of components from trays
Active alignment
Automated UV Epoxy dispense and UV Curing or Laser Welding

All test and process equipment was fully automated and integrated into the system.

DATACOM

Datacom applications have long been the development of high-volume integrated photonics manufacturing. The essential drivers are the monetization of ever diverse online services, and the consumption of the related content via increasingly capable devices.

In 1999 ADST introduced a machine that automated pig-tailing of PLCs/ AWGs and since then has gained extensive experience in these sectors, including the assembly of TOSA/ROSA, and more optical transceivers.

All appropriate devices have to be assembled, packaged, and satisfy very rigorous testing procedures.
The following capabilities are of particular relevance to this sector:
•photonic device assembly & testing
•functionalizing devices with light sources, modulators, receivers & detectors
•I/O connectorization for fiber optics & waveguides
•combined optical & electronic testing
•high-volume capability involving high levels of automation

AUTOMOTIVE

ADST is currently leading and implementation of key tecnologis for Automotive and Lidar systems.

The automotive area is the electrification of the drive system, the implementation of automatic safety systems based on vicinity and hazard awareness, and ultimately the introduction of autonomous vehicles at various levels of transportation.

Our machines already provide the full functiona of capabilities required to assemble, package and test, making them applicable to the automotive area, and making ADST an ideal partner for the assembly of next-generation Laser Light devices.

The following capabilities are of particular relevance to this area:
•photonic device assembly for emitter/detector devices
•laser diode assembly for exterior lights systems
•hybrid device assembly for VCSEL/fiber-optic array coupling
